Abstract
A few derivatives of the potent MDR inhibitor 2-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-2-(me thylethyl)-5-[(anthr-9-yl)methylamino]pentanenitrile (MM36) have been synth esised and studied with the aim of optimising activity and selectivity. The results show that, even if dramatic improvements in potency and in selecti vity were not reached, a better drug candidate (14) and a new lead for furt her development of the series (8) have been identified.
