Abstract
Free radical reactions accompany varying physiological and pathological met abolic processes. Anti-oxidant enzymes (superoxide dismutase, glutathione p eroxidase, and catalase) are involved in protecting cells from oxidative da mage. Trace elements like manganese, zinc, copper, selenium are included in active centers of these enzymes.
