Wa. Fogel et C. Maslinski, THE FAD DEPENDENT AMINE OXIDASES IN RELATION TO DEVELOPMENTAL STATE OF ENTEROCYTE, Journal of neural transmission. Supplementum, (41), 1994, pp. 95-99
Epithelial cells from bovine and guinea pig small intestines contain m
onoamine and polyamine oxidases with MAO-A preponderance at any matura
tional stage. For either species, K-m values for 5HT and N(1)acetylspe
rmine remain throughout cellular maturation on the same levels, wherea
s the V-max values do not. For serotonin, the dividing crypt cells sho
wed in cow lower and in guinea pig higher V-max than the mature cells;
for N(1)acetylspermine, mature cells, independently of species, showe
d lower V-max.
