Standardization of IMT2000

Great efforts have been made to establish global 3G mobile systems, IMT2000 . IMT2000 specifications are now stable and many manufacturers are developi ng equipment. NEC has paid special attention to WCDMA technology standard d evelopment among the IMT2000 family. 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Proje ct) is the actual body to develop WCDMA standard now. Within 3GPP, further enhancement, such as low chip rate TDD (Time Division Duplex) and IP multim edia subsystem is being studied. WCDMA standard has been established but is still evolving toward the future.
