Core network infrastructure for future IMT2000 networks

In order to realize high-quality and business-oriented communication servic es in a mobile networking environment, bandwidth scalability, QoS assurance and flexible reconfigurability are the most important requirements to the core network infrastructure nodes in future IMT2000 networks. This paper di scusses these requirements while illustrating the future mobile networking scenes, and then introduces a prototype system of a mobile packet switching node which employs a multi-processor architecture to implement mobile prot ocol processing functions with a throughput of 300Mbit/sec.
