Abstract
In this review on the most interesting studies and discoveries made during our structure-activity relationship investigations with non-competitive AMP A antagonists of 2,3-benzodiazepine type, our chain of ideas is discussed w hich led to several new types of active non-competitive AMPA antagonists. S ome selected compounds (e.g. GYKI-47261) exerting broad spectrum of anticon vulsive and excellent neuroprotective effects are being further investigate d.
