After establishing several chronological points of reference, the author, w
ho was very close to Serge Lebovici during his last years of life, evokes i
n this text several of the principal axes in the work of this pioneer of ch
ild psychiatry and psychoanalysis (observation, fantasy, the generation of
object relations, infantile neurosis, early interaction, the transgeneratio
nal concept, the triad, mental representation, empathy, filiation and affil
iation). The author presents his personal interpretation which emphasizes S
erge Lebovici's research concerning the interrelationships between developm
ent and structure.
