Abstract
The paper describes physical models of the emission of bulk and Rayleigh wa ves by growing fatigue cracks. We have studied basic parameters of emission processes as functions of the crack edge velocity, its dimensions and dept h in the material with due account of its elastic and strength characterist ics and loading conditions. Some practical applications of the suggested te chnique are mentioned.
