Based on an analysis of the characteristics of the adsorptive, sorbent, and
a number of other experimental data, a mechanism of phenylalanine nonexcha
nge absorption on AN-221, AN-251, and AN-31 low-CD basicity anionites in th
e Cl-form was proposed. The mechanism takes into account the electrostatic
interaction between the sorbent functional groups and the phenylalanine bip
olar ions, the formation and growth or aminoacid associates on the sorbent
surface, and the competition between the association processes at the anion
ite surface and in the solution.
