The hydration properties of KU-2 x 8 sulfocationite saturated with tyrosine
(Tyr)and phenylalanine (Phe) (aromatic amino acids) were studied by IR spe
ctroscopy and thermal analysis. An increase in the amount of a sorbed zwitt
erlyte leads to an increase in the degree of sorbent dehydration, free Gibb
s energy, and pressure of swelling. This effect is equivalent to an increas
e in the degree of crosslinking of the cationite.
