Ng. Podosenova et al., Fullerene effects on the adsorption properties of silica gel with respect to low-density lipoproteides, RUSS J PH C, 75(11), 2001, pp. 1871-1875
The adsorption properties of silica gel with respect to lipoproteides and c
hanges in these properties caused by silica gel interaction with fullerene
C-60 were studied. (The content of fullerene in silica gel was varied in th
e range 0.003-3 wt % by using C-60 + o-dichlorobenzene impregnating solutio
ns of various concentrations, washing C-60 off by toluene, and high-tempera
ture vacuum sublimation Of C-60.) Silica gel had a high adsorption capacity
and selectivity with respect to low-density lipoproteides, which were virt
ually independent of the concentration of C-60. The optical absorption spec
tra of silica gel samples containing various amounts Of C-60 were measured
in the visible region. The results were interpreted using the theory of spe
cific adsorption "imprints.".
