Abstract
A new, highly efficient catalyst for CO oxidation based on a synthetic foam ed-ceramics support with a large developed specific surface was developed. The active component of the catalyst was potassium permanganate. The cataly st can readily be prepared. The use of a synthetic foamed-ceramics support makes it possible to produce the catalyst in the form of a block. The activ ity of the catalyst in the CO oxidation was Studied both in the pulse mode and in the continuous-flow mode. It was shown that, at CO concentrations in an air mixture of 7-10 vol %, the catalyst provides complete conversion of CO into CO2 at 300 degreesC.
