A microwave patch event observed with the 2.6-3.8 GHz spectrometer of Beiji
ng Astronomical Observatory (BAO) on 12 June 1998 is described in detail in
this paper. The patches show high flux densities, high polarization degree
, extremely narrow bandwidth, and high spectral indexes. These observationa
l characteristics may suggest that the favored emission mechanism is plasma
or maser emission rather than gyrosynchrotron emission.
