Abstract
The structure of fullerene C-60 films modified by helium dc glow discharge plasma was studied using Raman scattering spectroscopy. The vibrational spe ctra of the C-60 films exhibit certain features depending on the plasma tre atment duration. The helium ion bombardment leads to the degradation of the fullerene structure and the formation of an amorphous carbon phase. The co efficient of carbon sputtering by helium was estimated.
