Regular and singular asymptotic methods are applied to one- and two-dimensi
onal Fredholm-Volterra integral equation (F-VIE) of the first kind that ari
se in the treatment of various two-dimensional axisymmetric and three-dimen
sional problems with mixed boundary conditions in the mechanics of continuo
us media. The solution of the integral equation is obtained in the space L-
2(Omega) x C(0, T), 0 less than or equal to t less than or equal to T < inf
inity under certain conditions, where Omega is the domain of integration an
