Attempts have been made to investigate, by sintering of powder components,
the solid solution formation in the valence compensated perovskite oxide Sr
1-xLaxTi1-xCrxO3 system. Solid solutions, with cubic structure, form for al
l the compositions up to x less than or equal to 0.50. The unit cell volume
decreases with increasing value of x. The grain size of sintered samples w
as in the range 2-4 mum. The dielectric constant was found to be temperatur
e and frequency dependent. Orientational and space charge polarisation cont
ribute to the dielectric behaviour.
