Abstract
We describe a 50-year-old man who presented with multiple liver abscesses t hat suggested biliary sepsis or portal pyemia. A wet preparation of a sampl e of aspirate showed the presence of amebic trophozoites, and subsequent se rological testing for amebae was strongly reactive.
