Controversial and special situations in the management of preterm premature rupture of membranes

The management of preterm premature rupture of membranes is one of the many controversial areas of medicine. Many of the protocols used to manage pret erm premature rupture of membranes are not based on solid data. Other situa tions are rarely encountered, making it very difficult to arrive at a manag ement scheme on which all can agree. This article presents five such areas along with available literature and discusses treatment options invloving t hese controversial or special topics.
