Abstract
populations of the atomic hyper ne levels in the rare decay of a polarized neutron into an antineutrino and a hydrogen atom are evaluated assuming the existence of right-handed weak currents. A finite population is deduced fo r the |1/2, 1/2; 1/2, 1/2 > decoupled hyperfine level which, within the res trictions of the standard model, is required to be empty. The implications for an experimental test are evaluated.
