A new method for solving the con figuration-space Faddeev equations for ela
stic p-d scattering below the deuteron-breakup threshold is described. Nume
rical solutions that demonstrate the convergence and accuracy of the method
are given. The number of channels and the value of the matching radius req
uired to obtain an accurate solution are also investigated. These calculati
ons demonstrate that this method can efficiently solve the large matrix equ
ations required for the three-body scattering problem.
