Metabolic complications are frequently seen following urinary diversio
n with an intestinal segment. Afferent limb complications are noted in
10% of patients undergoing continent Kock urinary diversion. We prese
nt a patient with cloacal exstrophy who developed significant hypocalc
emic tetany and metabolic acidosis related to a nondraining afferent l
