Abstract
Examples of photoinduced electron transfer (PET) mediated cyclization of me thoxynaphthyl analogues of chalcone using electron acceptors have been repo rted. While the demethoxy derivative underwent photodimerization on direct irradiation, the corresponding methoxy derivative underwent cis-trans isome rization only.
