Abstract
A 67-year-old woman presented with pain and swelling over her ring met acarpal. There was no history of antecedent blunt ol penetrating injur y. X-rays showed a progressively destructive lesion of the metacarpal shaft and base. Subsequent biopsy revealed a giant cell reparative gra nuloma. Because oi her age and the presence of osteoarthritis and digi tal stiffness, a ray amputation was carried out. Follow-up examination 3 years later revealed no evidence of recurrence.
