M. Koga et al., Boundary configuration of heat-treated Dauphine twin by X-ray topography and computer simulation, JPN J A P 1, 40(10), 2001, pp. 6039-6040
The configuration of the Dauphine twin boundary, which was formed in the co
oling process of the heat treatment of natural quartz with the beta-alpha p
hase transition, was investigated by X-ray diffraction topography at room t
emperature and by computer simulation. Comparing the image from the section
topograph of the Dauphine twin wall with the image drawn by computer simul
ation, the part of the Dauphine twin wall imaged by topography revealed a s
light concave. It is concluded that the concave plane approximately corresp
onds to the envelope of the real boundary wall.
