Abstract
The nonthermal atmospheric pressure plasma produced by streamer corona disc harge was used for the treatment of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The decomposition rate of toluene as a VOC was investigated under various disch arge conditions of discharge period, pulse rise time of discharge voltage a nd gas flow rate. The quantity of byproducts due to the toluene decompositi on was controlled by the discharge parameter, that is, pulse rise time of d ischarge voltage applied between discharge electrodes.
