Abstract
The results were obtained by DNA fingerprint analysis. Only one out of 34 n estlings from four Great Tit broods situated unusually close to each other was due to EPCs of the female. This low rate of EPY may be explained by att ributable to effective mate guarding in consequence of the close proximity of the four nest holes and associated territories.
