T. Treszczanowicz et al., Solubility of beta-carotene in binary solvents formed by some hydrocarbonswith cyclohexanone and 1-octanol, J CHEM EN D, 46(6), 2001, pp. 1494-1496
Experimental results are reported for the solubility of beta -carotene in s
ix binary mixed solvents formed by cyclohexanone with cyclohexane, hexane,
and toluene and by 1-octanol with cyclohexane, hexane, and toluene at 293.1
5 K. A colorimeter was used for analysis of the beta -carotene concentratio
n. The beta -carotene solubility in pure solvents increases in the order 1-
octanol < hexane < cyclohexanone < cyclohexane < toluene. The solubility da
ta as a function of binary solvent mass fractions were smoothed by a ration
al type equation.
