Abstract
We address the problem of improving the lateral resolution of ultrasonic im ages by a regularization technique in the wavelet domain. With a very low a dditional computational cost, the proposed approach increases the efficienc y of the standard regularization technique because it efficiently remove th e additive noise. Under the assumption that the point spread function is kn own, we applied our restoration technique to both synthetic and real ultras onic imaging data. Moreover, experimental results show that the proposed me thod reduces also speckle artifacts, which generally are enhanced by the de convolution.
