Abstract
Estimates of upper bounds on flight Mach number for scramjet-powered vehicl es operating on liquid hydrocarbon fuels assuming either equilibrium or fro zen nozzle chemistry are presented. For an axisymmetric: missile-shaped veh icle, these upper bounds lie between Mach 9 and 10.
