Abstract
We introduce the concept of low-resolution surface enhanced Raman spectrosc opy (SERS) for cyanide as a potentially highly useful, cost-effective appro ach to detection and analysis for monitoring water contamination. We presen t high-sensitivity, low-resolution measurements of cyanide in water using a solid-state gold sot-gel substrate. These data suggest a sensitivity limit for low-resolution SERS detection of cyanide in water in the region of 10 ppb. Copyright (C) 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
