Abstract
A method is proposed for predicting the existence of binary azeotropes and their boiling temperatures by use of topological and thermodynamic conditio ns for combinations of azeotropes in ternary systems. The method can not on ly predict boiling temperatures but also give their confidence intervals. I ts usefulness is demonstrated by predicting azeotropic temperatures of 8 bi nary systems utilizing 559 sets of ternary azeotropic data.
