Abstract
MCM-41 derivatized with the cis-[Mo-2(mu -O2CMe)(2)(MeCN)(6)](2+) cation ha s been characterized by means of XAFS spectroscopy and shown to be active a s an. initiator for the cationic polymerization of methylcyclopentadiene. T he Mo-Mo quadruple bond is not disrupted during the fixation on the surface .
