Abstract
The small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) technique has been used to characte rize the coarsening kinetics of the delta' phase in 1420 Al-Li alloy aged a t 160 degreesC for several times. The results showed that the deviation of delta' phase coarsening from the LSW coarsening rate law exists between the early stage and later stage of aging. It maybe identified by the mechanism of spinodal decomposition of the delta' phase. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science I nc. All rights reserved.
