Pj. Modrego et Ma. Pina, Extraskeletal Ewing's sarcoma presenting with neurological symptoms. Report of two cases, NEUROL SCI, 22(3), 2001, pp. 257-259
Extraosseous Ewing's sarcoma (EES) is an uncommon condition that may develo
p in soft tissues at any location. Neurological symptoms leading to diagnos
is have been reported exceptionally. We report two cases of EES in patients
aged 16 and 74 years, presenting with cauda equina syndrome and radicular
ulnar involvement respectively. Radiological images showed a paraspinal mas
s in both cases and biopsy disclosed the histological features of Ewing's s
arcoma. EES should be kept in mind in the differential diagnosis of paraspi
nal soft tissues tumours at any age.
