Parameters of paramagnetic relaxation were determined by OD ESR and qu
antum bears techniques for a recombining pair of radical ions (DPS-d(1
0))(+)/(PTP-d(14))(-) in n-hexane, isooctane, cis-decalin, and squalan
e solutions. The T-2 relaxation time determined by quantum beats techn
ique is independent of solvent viscosity and magnetic field strength i
n the range 170-9600 G. These data are in agreement with the results o
btained by OD ESR technique assuming fast T-1 relaxation for radical c
ation. Neglecting the contribution of radical anion relaxation, we obt
ained T-1c=T(2c)congruent to 50 ns for (DPS-d(10))(+).
