Abstract
This study examines the role of interactivity in the presentation of scienc e news on the World Wide Web. The authors propose and testa model of intera ctive information processing that suggests a relationship between interacti vity, cognitive elaboration, and learning. A think-aloud method was employe d to provide insight into study participants' mental processes during Web u se.
