Abstract
Oxidative transformations of alcohols, oximes and cyclic acetals to carbony l compounds proceed efficiently by pyridinium chlorochromate (PCC) under so lvent-free conditions. The oxidation of aromatic and cinnamylic aldehydes t o carboxylic acids, which does not occur by PCC in solution. is achieved sa tisfactorily in the absence of solvent.
