Abstract
Integrated optical and microoptical detection schemes are advantageous for the detection of surface-bound biochemical reactions. Fluorescence detectio n in combination with miniaturised multiple reflection elements is very sen sitive due to the effective excitation of fluorescence. These methods are e asily realised in a chip format, which is very promising e.g. for DNA analy sis. Beside this, label free detection is possible, based on waveguide opti cs. A very sensitive interferometric system is presented.
