Abstract
Conditions are reported which allow to convert optically active methyl glyc erate to the 2-O-allyl derivative without racemization. Cross metathesis re actions then lead to analogues of the 2-O-alkyl glycerate part of the moeno mycin antibiotics. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
