Cs3P11. 3NH(3) was obtainedfrom asolution of Cs3P11 in liquid ammonia. Its
structure consists of P-11(3-)-cage. anions, which coordinate the cesium ca
tions together with ammonia molecules, resulting in a three-dimensional net
work. The compound completes a family of structures that are derived from t
he binary phosphide Cs3P11 through the stepwise expanding and dismantling o
f the three-dimensional network of ions by ammonia molecules of coordinatio
n or through the exchange of the cesium cations for voluminous molecular ca
tions.
