Abstract
Second order perturbation theory for the free energy of the s-d exchange Ha miltonian H-K is applied to CuCr. The temperature dependence of the cutoff D(T) for H-K is adjusted to obtain agreement between theory and the experim ental plot of specific heat for CuCr found by Tripplett and Philips. We fin d that the function D(T) follows approximately the rule D (T) = 10(3)k(B)T + gamma (k(B)T)(2).
