Abstract
In 100 consecutive patients with chest pain syndrome and "nonsignificant" c oronary artery stenosis, angiographically assessed vasospasm with ergonovin e is not rare (5%) and can be efficiently identified noninvasively by ergon ovine echocardiography. In simultaneously evaluating angiographic correlate s of ergonovine echocardiographic findings, myocardial ischemia due to coro nary vasospasm was related to smaller baseline obstruction diameter and mor e pronounced response to ergonovine.
