Abstract
We studied the clinical features of patients with reperfused inferior wall acute myocardial infarction who had complete atrioventricular block within 6 hours after symptom onset. Patients with a rapid atrial rate (>75 beats/m in) during complete atrioventricular block had more severe myocardial damag e and greater microcirculatory reperfusion injury, resulting in a larger in farct size; those with a slow atrial rate (less than or equal to 75 beats/ min) had less myocardial damage, subsequent myocardial reperfusion, and a s maller infarct size despite a similar area at risk.
