Abstract
Review of the first 416 early survivors of a Fontan operation at a single c enter yielded a cumulative 10-year risk of developing protein-losing entero pathy of 5.2% with an associated poor prognosis. Statistical analysis contr olling for follow-up time identified longer cardiopulmonary bypass time and single right ventricle anatomy as risk factors for the development of prot ein-losing enteropathy.
