Abstract
This report describes the hemodynamic characteristics and response to percu taneous or surgical intervention of patients with mitral stenosis and a dep ressed cardiac output in the absence of diuretic therapy. Compared with all other patients with mitral stenosis undergoing such procedures, these subj ects had a similarly low periprocedure mortality, and they derived excellen t symptomatic benefit from percutaneous or surgical intervention.
