L. Salmi et al., Coronary bypass with sodic danaparold for value replacement during thrombocytopenia due to type II heparin., ANN FR A R, 20(9), 2001, pp. 799-802
A type II heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT) was diagnosed in a 64-year
-old woman at day 20 of intravenous unfractionated heparin (UFH) therapy, g
iven after myocardial infarction treated by angioplasty and intracoronary s
tent. The infarction was complicated by a mitral insufficiency that led to
a mitral valve replacement. Cardiopulmonary bypass was successfully perform
ed with sodium danaparoid (Orgaran((R))), as an alternative to UFH, without
thrombotic or haemorragic complications and the follow-up was uneventful.
