Abstract
In the liberalised European electricity market the basis for contract desig n and price level is based on wholesale price calculations. Many companies have realised the strategical importance of the electricity wholesale marke t and have attached a high priority on raising know-how levels in this area . This article reflects the evolution of the German wholesale market and of fers an overview of the present and future developments.
