Abstract
A novel asymmetric synthesis of highly enantioenriched homotaurine precurso rs has been developed via diastereoselective Michael addition of lithiated enantiopure sulfonates to nitroalkenes by using 1,2:5,6-di-O-isopropylidene -alpha -D-allofuranose as chiral auxiliary.
