Abstract
A significant acceleration of the hydrolysis of acetylsalicylic acid was ac complished by the introduction of an AOT/near-critical propane microemulsio n at lower W-0 values; the rate constant at W-0 = 1 was found to be 54 time s that in aqueous buffer medium in the presence of imidazole catalyst.
