Abstract
Coumarins containing N-alkylsulfonamide groups built into benzoxazolyl, ben
zothiazolyl, or benzimidazolyl systems were synthesized and then reacted wi
th NaCN to give fluorescent red compounds. Results from a determination of
the spectral properties and dyeing characteristics of these new dyes sugges
